Setting up at The Hive, Muizenberg

Much has happened since my last blog. For our loyal supporters who didn’t want to wait for Friday market at the Blue Bird, The Little Red Bike is now trading daily at The Hive. In a future post we will tell you more about The Hive.

We opened officially on Thursday, the 1st of February 2018. The Hive is such a nice environment to work from. We have a fantastic barista, Darren, and I dare say, he makes the best coffee in Muizenberg!

Vegan meals from breakfast to lunch

I cook daily from the Hive. Fresh breakfast buddha bowls and salad bowls. I make my delicious gluten free and sugar free chocolate and carrot cake with fruit in season. There are vegan crumpets to order with fresh fruit and a “dish” of the day for R50. My menu changes with my mood, however, the above staples are available daily.

Life at The Hive

Beautiful and colourful characters pop in throughout the day and there are some amazing workshops on offer; Xhosa workshops, music and comedy nights, water-wise workshops and more. Wonderful local artwork adorn the walls; there is some serious talent in this village. We’re close to the beach with amazing surfing potential. All in all, Muizenberg is a must-see little village by the sea and Palmer Road with its quaint shops is worth a visit. While you’re here, pop in and have a decent cup of coffee and enjoy some delicious vegan food. Then take a walk to the beach with its majestic view across False Bay. A true surfer’s paradise with genuine people.
