The Palms Market, Woodstock
What an awesome venue! It was a cold and rainy Saturday but the atmosphere inside was warm and cozy. The music from Lize Mynhardt, local Cape Town musician, added flavour and ambiance. What a voice!
A trader behind me said we are like a family. I can attest to that. A lovely jovial atmosphere was predominant on the day. Regulars came round to introduce themselves. Some have been coming to the market since it first opened in early 2012. A gentleman called Mike, funny and gregarious, made such an impression. People like Mike make a day special. The market is the brainchild of Isabella Niehaus, a woman with a really big heart and a passion for her creation. It’s worth a regular visit.
Our breakfast layer was a hit! Pancake, bacon, sausage, egg layers smothered in cheese sauce. We had vegetarian options available and at the next market we will also provide a vegan option, Egyptian Koshari, a wholesome street food at its best. The peanut butter, chocolate and Oreo layer was also very popular.
Hope to see you on Saturday 🙂
